Rooks portrayed the role of Danni in Good Grief at Ship’s Company Theatre in beautiful Parrsboro, Nova Scotia during the summer of 2021.

“My Cape Breton background has definitely taught me to rely on humour and music as a way to cope and this piece is my way of addressing the heaviness of the world with a light heart.” – Richie Wilcox, AD

Eleven-year-old Danni, with the help of their uncles, stages a quirky performance in tribute to their beloved pet cat. Uncle Jamie faces the pressure of singing at a funeral as he returns to his childhood home. Uncle Parker learns a lesson from Andre the Giant. Follow this charming trio on a heartwarming journey as they embrace the coping mechanisms of music and dance to move forward through their troubles.
