Facilitator turned artist/owner-member

The QTE's (pronounced ‘cuties’) formed in 2019 through a workshop series called Shakesqueer co-produced by DaPoPo Theatre and Shakespeare By The Sea. We are currently in our second session of creative development thanks to funding from Canada Council for The Arts and Fundraising by DaPoPo Theatre. We have decided to become an independent collective and have a wide variety of skills and knowledge in our collective ranging from collective creation, to technical theatre, puppetry, clown, music performance, composition, craft as performance, producing and more!

Our current members include: Rooks Field-Green, Lara Lewis, Steph Kincade, Jordan Jeremiah, Madeleine Tench, Sophie Schade, Sara Tilley, Alexa Kirste, James Thornton, Garry Williams, and Quincy Russell.

Some of the Queer Theatre Ensemble are pictured here.

[IMAGE DESCRIPTION] 11 artists are pictured wearing a rainbow of queer-coded clothing with huge grins on their faces. 7 of those artists are standing on foam puzzle-piece mats in the back of the photo and four scruffy artists are kneeling in the front of the photo.

On June 6th 2021 the QTE’s will be holding a workshop on collective-queer-creation as part of Eastern Front Theatre’s Stages Festival.
